Feeds and API

All of the site's public data is available read-only, without authentication.

Feeds

• RSS 2.0: /rss/<category-or-archive>, e.g. /rss/cond-mat
• Atom: /atom/<category-or-archive>, e.g. /atom/cond-mat
• Recent comments (Atom): /atom/comments

JSON API

GET /api/v1/papers?q=black+hole&category=hep-th&start=0&max_results=25

max_results is at most 100. Search uses the same engine as the site. Without q, results are newest first. Optional sort: relevance, newest, oldest, updated.

Atom query API (arXiv-style subset)

GET /api/query?search_query=ti:"black hole" AND au:maldacena&start=0&max_results=10
GET /api/query?id_list=2610.00001,2610.00002

Field prefixes: ti (title), au (author), abs (abstract), co (comments), jr (journal reference), id, all, and cat (category). Join terms with AND, OR, ANDNOT; parentheses are not supported. sortBy is relevance, lastUpdatedDate or submittedDate, with sortOrder ascending or descending.

Fair use

The API allows 120 requests per minute per address. Please cache responses and identify your client in the User-Agent header.
