Comments and discussion

Every paper has a discussion thread at the bottom of its page. Verified members can post top-level comments and reply to others. Anyone can read them.

Guidelines

  • Comment on the work, not the person. Be specific, constructive and courteous.
  • Corrections, questions, related references and reproductions are welcome. Self-promotion and off-topic remarks are not.
  • Comments show your name and institution. Do not post anyone's private information.

Formatting

Comments support a small subset of Markdown: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, fenced code blocks, > quotes, - bullet lists, 1. numbered lists, links [text](https://example.org) and bare URLs. References of the form arXiv:1234.56789 link to arxiv.org, and 1xiv:2610.00001 links to a paper here. Math is typeset from LaTeX: see math syntax. HTML is never interpreted.

Editing and deleting

You can edit your own comments at any time (an “edited” mark is shown) and delete them. A deleted comment that has replies leaves a placeholder so the thread still reads sensibly.

Reporting

Use Report under a comment to alert the moderators, with a short reason. Moderators can hide comments; hidden comments leave a notice, and every action is logged.

Limits

Comments may be up to 10000 characters, and each member may post 10 comments per hour.
